Position Title: Mental Health Clinician
Department: GAMHWS – Adult South Community team
Employment Type: Fixed Term – 12 months full time
80 Hours per fortnight with monthly ADO (n part time and casual staff also considered)
Ballarat Health Services, proudly part of Grampians Health is seeking a self-motivated, compassionate, suitably qualified, with mental health experience to work as -Community Mental Health Practitioners and Nurses for positions within our team. Consideration may be given to part time and some flexibility in workplace arrangements for the successful applicant.
We are seeking candidates who are able to work collaboratively with clients to achieve better life goals through individualised supports, partnerships with services, education supports. Assisting those you work with in enhanced recovery, knowledge of mental health illness and treatment options, personal growth and activities of daily living
What we would like you to you bring
- Ideallyyou will have a background and be registered in your field of Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing and/or Psychology, along with demonstrated experience. Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the issues faced by individuals in the region
- Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers
- Demonstrated understanding of the Community Services sector, and proven ability or willingness to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Provide empathic, recovery-orientated supports to clients with mental health challenges to achieve their life goals
- Develop strength based assessments to support client’s personal growth, capacity for self-care, increased knowledge and participation in community engagement
- Provide personalised support coordination services consistent with the goals and aspirations identified in client’s wellness and recovery plans
- Work with families and carers providing information, advice and support relevant to health and social needs.
- Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to client’s recovery goal
