About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated, engaged individual to deliver drug and alcohol education programs in schools and in the community. Therapeutic group activities include Boxing, Drumming, Music, and Art Therapy. You will be provided with training and resources on Alcohol and other Drugs. This position will deliver flexible, innovative and evidence-based programs and outreach services to young people and their families. The position may also support individual young people through the Youth Rent Choice Program when needed.
This is a Permanent PT position based in Artarmon and Northern Beaches area.
Duties
- Deliver drug and education programs in schools and in the community
- Deliver small focused and therapeutic groups
- Provide informed advice and information and assessing suitability for internal services and making referrals to other services where appropriate
- Potential to provide case work support with low, moderate and high needs clients impacted by drugs and alcohol
- Address child protection concerns and safety planning to enhance family safety and individual safety of young person
Skills & experience
- Min Diploma in an appropriate area e.g., Social Work, Social Science, Welfare, Psychology, or Drugs and Alcohol and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience
- Min 1 Years experience in supporting young people in case work
- Ability to deliver groups to large and small groups; confident with public speaking
- Able to engage young people in a relatable way
- Current and valid NSW Driver’s Licence and use of own vehicle

- Thorough knowledge of the impact of drugs and alcohol on young people; and drug and alcohol intervention strategies
