We have a unique position for a Therapeutic Practice Clinician, we don’t want you writing BSP’s that is not your role. We don’t want you to have a case load, that is not your role. We want you to be our Therapeutic Practice Clinician who can work through complex cases with the Therapeutic Case Managers, work with external stakeholders and who can review a Positive Behaviour Support plan.
About the role
The Therapeutic Practice Clinician will be part of the Family Spirit Permanency Support Program and play a vital role to support our Children, young people, carers and their birth families.
Your role will be varied and is built on the principals of ARC – the foundation of our practice within Family Spirit. We need you to be able to work with the team to create sustainable change by using an ecological approach to support the Therapeutic Case Managers (TCM) in understanding what strengths exist that can be built upon to find creative solutions.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Permanency Support Program with the ongoing implementation of Attachment Regulation and Competency (ARC)
- Conducting Group Supervisions utilising a combination of both the Minnesota method and ARC across the agency
- Attending and engaging in Complex Case Reviews
- Liaising with all external psychologists for quarterly reviews and coordinate with Team Leaders (TL) and TCM’s
- Working with the with external provider and panel to monitor and review all Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) for the Positive Behavioural Support Panel
- Monitoring the data base for the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire
- Supporting the TCM’s with the implementation of behaviour strategies for children and young people, carers and birth families.
- Provide consultation to the TCM/TL, children and young people, carers and external services/stakeholders to promote positive outcomes
- Identify training needs for the Permanency Support Program and where possible conduct the training for the team.
About you
To be a successful candidate, you will have:
- Tertiary Degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or another related discipline
- Full registration with the appropriate registration body or the ability to be working towards to acquire full registration
- Experience in working with children and/or young people who have had traumatic events in their lives and understanding the impact this has on their environment and long-term outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing behavioural intervention strategies, risk management and skills development plans for children/young people with complex needs
- Knowledge of the Community Services sector and the Out of Home Care environment.
- Desired Family Group Conference facilitator
- Experience working independently and as a team
- Current Working with Children Check clearance
- Current and valid driver’s licence.
