Are you a highly motivated Counsellor looking for a new and exciting position?
The Hills Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Counsellor to join our team on a casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team working closely with our Registered Nurses ensuring a high level of patient care.
About us
The Hills Private Hospital is a 111-bed private hospital located in the Hills District of Sydney, consisting of 86 Rehab and 25 mental health beds. Our hospital offers inpatient and day programs in orthopaedics, neurological, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation as well as treatment programs for mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis intervention and substance abuse.
As a Counsellor your responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrates knowledge, skills, judgement and care in the effective delivery of counselling services (utilising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)) for adults presenting with a range of psychiatric disorders
- Experience in the appropriate use of clinical assessment techniques e.g. structured clinical interviews and self-report measures
- Provides individual, group and telephone based counselling services
- Maximises the efficacy of clinical services through the development of productive and professional relationships with Psychiatrists, General Practitioners and other referral sources
- Provides input into the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs ensuring that they are current and congruent with patient needs.
- Demonstrates awareness of admission and discharge criteria for therapeutic programs as directed by Health Funds and associated bodies and complies with the completion of relevant documentation
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant degree qualifications
- Current full registration with Counselling Governing Bodies
- Must have a few years of previous experience
- Experience facilitating group therapy sessions
- Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Superior time management and organisational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
