  • Part Time Position – 45 hours per fortnight
  • Temporary position until 6th February 2023
  • $44.92 per hour – Above award rate plus generous salary sacrificing benefits to increase your take-home pay.

Primary Objective

A provisional psychologist is responsible for the effective delivery of psychological services under a range of funded service types including, but not limited to:

• Family Relationship Therapeutic Counselling Services;

• Psycho educational services to individuals or groups;

• Fee for Service Psychological Services including but not limited to NDIS, Better Health Access and WorkingWell services.

The staff member will ensure that services are provided in accordance with relevant organisational policies and procedures, funding guidelines, relevant standards and legislation and that Family Relationship Counselling services are provided in accordance with the Family Law Act 1975 (Family Counsellors

Qualifications and Experience

I. Must hold provisional registration as a psychologist under the Health Practitioner National Law, as in force in each state and territory (the National Law);

II. Provisional registration must be maintained until General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) is achieved (annual registration as a provisional psychologist includes a declaration that a Board approved pathway i.e. program of study or supervised practice is being completed);

III. Successful application for a Medicare Provider Number (after positive employment notification) and ongoing maintenance of same to enable medical benefits claims;

IV. Current C or CA class driver’s license (QLD);

  • Set priorities and monitor work flow in the areas of responsibility;
  • Exercise judgment and initiative where procedures are not clearly defined;
  • Undertake duties that require knowledge of procedures, guidelines and/or statutory requirements relevant to the organisation;
  • Develop, plan and supervise the implementation of educational and/or developmental programs for clients;
  • Demonstrate preparedness and capacity to work effectively and appropriately with teams;
  • Actively work towards the CatholicCareCQ mission and within its values framework;
  • Deliver culturally appropriate services.

The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate entitlement to work in Australia, and to disclose any pre-existing injury or disease which may be adversely affected by undertaking the inherent requirements of the position.

This position requires the completion of an Australian Federal Police check, an NDIS disability worker screening check, and attainment of a Blue Card for working with children, prior to commencement.
