Social Work Graduate Program – Allied Health Mental Health Graduate Program:

Austin Mental Health is building the Social Work graduate workforce and we are actively recruiting early career Social Workers

There are currently a number of exciting full time, 2-year, fixed term contract positions within the Social Work Graduate Program – Allied Health Mental Health.

The Allied Health Graduate Program will offer the following:

Benefits of the program include:

· Two diverse rotations across the Mental Health Division

   Rotations may occur in Adult, Child & Youth and State-wide Speciality Services

· 10 professional development leave days.

· Reduced workload to support learner role

· Regular individual discipline specific supervision.

· One day a fortnight of protected learning time.

· Facilitated learning from a Senior Clinician and Clinical Educators

· Monthly group peer supervision sessions with other Graduates

· Engagement in a two-year targeted program of professional development.

· Second year focussed on skills development workshops and linking theory and practice

· Support developing Individual Learning Plans in line with competencies

· Be part of a discipline-specific community of over 60 Social Workers

· An authentic commitment to supporting graduate wellbeing throughout their time at Austin Health

The Mental Health Division comprises four Directorates, including Child and Youth, Adult Mental Health, Triage and Planning, and Specialty Services (PTRS and Brain Disorders). This ensures Austin Health is an employee of choice for graduates embarking on a new career. Successful applicants will be offered two 12-month rotations across two teams within the Mental Health Division.

Social Work at Austin:

Within the Mental Health Division at Austin Health Social Workers are supported to grow and develop in a number of ways including:

· A dedicated Discipline Senior for Social Work who oversees Social Work at Austin Mental Health Division,

· Opportunities to connect with approximately 60 Social Work peers across the MHD through ongoing discipline professional meetings.

· Clinical opportunities to engage in evidence-based practice

· Discipline Specific Supervision

· Professional development opportunities – both in house as well as through The Centre for Mental Health Learning,

· Time release to attend professional development.

· Opportunities and support to participate in research

· Being part of multi-disciplinary team structures.
