JOB DESCRIPTION

On behalf of our client which is a well established Private Practice in the Top End of The Northern Territory in Arnhem Land. Arnhem Land is beautiful and diverse with remote and rugged coastlines and white sandy beaches. This vast area is one of Australia’s last strongholds of traditional Aboriginal culture. There are many activities and things to see and do locally so make sure you spend the time to experience them all. This is a permanent role, however applicants wanting to experience on a 3-6 contract basis will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality psychological assessment and intervention for clients
  • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for people, including liaising with internal and external service providers
  • Relate to people in a manner which is culturally relevant and appropriate
  • Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments using evidence-based assessment tools
  • Conduct risk assessments, including assessment of suicide risk and violence risk and provide follow up support, referrals and treatment
  • Monitor patients for critical changes and initiate appropriate emergency procedure in partnership with acute care providers and medical specialists as indicated

  
About You 

  • Completed Qualification in Social Work
  • AASW Membership as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
  • Medicare Provider Number or eligibility to apply
  • A good understanding of health issues and commitment to improving health outcomes that impact non-indigenous and indigenous people in a remote environmental context
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical, evidence-based assessment and interventions with people that present with mild to moderate mental health conditions
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written skills with emphasis on interpersonal communication skills, establishing trust and rapport, maintaining confidentiality and record keeping
  • Demonstrated competence in use of information technology, internet and desktop applications; e.g. electronic client record systems, Outlook, Word, Excel and database packages

Remuneration Package
A generous package of up to $110K + Super P.A Based on level of experience.
