About the Role

Redkite is undertaking a significant 3-year project to transform its digital service offering for families. We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to support the development of the program and roll out of new digital services and resources.

The Senior Social Worker – Client Experience and Support will primarily focus on providing psychosocial clinical expertise for the development and implementation of our KiteSupport program. The development of this program will include the strengthening of a family’s experience of support during their earliest contact with Redkite, and the implementation of digital and other information resources for families to access and use during their cancer experience. 

This role will work alongside the Redkite team of community social workers and will ensure that resources and services developed are of the highest standard, informed by evidence and the needs of families and clinically sound, operating within our Psychosocial Standards Framework. 

In addition, this role will also provide clinical supervision to Redkite’s team of Intake and Connection Officers and hold a small social work case load.

This full-time position is initially for a maximum of 3 years and based inner city Brisbane, with a two-day working from home three-day in the office arrangement. 

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ post-qualifying experience of providing psychosocial support and therapeutic counselling to children, young people (aged 0 to 18 years) and their families.
  • Minimum 2 years leadership and management experience.
  • Tertiary Social Work qualification recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision for service delivery teams.
  • Experience working on complex projects and delivering key milestones.
  • Deep understanding of digital/online service provision.
  • An ability to build and establish collaborative relationships partnerships with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Skilled at presenting information to a range of audiences.
  • Case noting and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience in providing telephone and email counselling.
  • Advanced knowledge of strengths based models of practice.

And desirable:-

  • Previous employment in oncology or other health related support areas (including community agencies).
  • Ability to undertake some intra and interstate travel.
