About Marymead
Marymead is a well-respected, community based, not-for-profit organisation that has provided a range of support services to children, young people and their families since 1967. Marymead now operates throughout the southern and western regional areas of NSW as well as the ACT with offices in Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Young, Moruya and Canberra. Marymead is seeking to fill the position/s outlined below.
Role Description
This position is working as part of a staff team and involves direct supervision of staff and direct contact with clients. The position also involves development of therapeutic plans, delivering therapeutic and evidence-based training to staff and clients to support placement stability; and the provision of clinical advice to Permanency Team Leaders, Case Managers and Permanency Support Workers to support children and families. Supports are provided both within home and centre based settings and may occur outside of core business hours to best meet the needs of our families. The Therapeutic Specialist Team Leader role is a permanent full-time position and ideally based in Wagga with frequent travel to locations – Goulburn and Canberra. The role reports directly to the Director Permanency.
Qualifications, skills and experience
Essential
- Degree in social work or psychology;
- Registered with relevant Accreditation body (AHPRA or AASW)
- Relevant experience;
- Familiarity with the indicators of child abuse and a willingness to work within a legislated child protection framework;
- Working with Vulnerable People/Working with Children Check Clearance (ACT/NSW as required)
- Full Unrestricted Driver’s Licence
- Willing to undergo extensive training in key therapeutic approaches and clinical assessment tools
Desireable
- Experience with clients referred by statutory agencies and the practice issues involved;
- Familiarity with a wide range of child welfare and community services.
- Family therapy skills, experience, training.
- Training in Circle of Security; Functional Family Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy; or Treatment Foster Care Oregon.
