Child & Youth Mental Health – Engagement & Assessment Clinician
Full time permanent position
The Mildura Base Hospital, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), Northern Mallee, provides tertiary mental health services for children and young people aged up to 25 years and their families. About the Role:
The position is a full time (40 hours a week) ongoing position.
The Engagement and Assessment Clinician will be part of a three-person team to provide a seamless entry point for clients requesting service provision from CYMHS. The clinician will be required to undertake mental health and psychosocial assessment and deliver crisis support for young people with serious mental illness in the community, as well as maintaining a small crisis caseload.
Duties include undertaking primary consultation services, including triage, assessments, risk and safety planning in conjunction with client’s families/carers and other professionals as required
About You:
The position requires a Registered Nurse (RN4), Psychologist (PSY3), Occupational Therapist (OT3) or a Social Worker (SW3) who holds registration with the relevant professional bodies, ideally, you will be an experienced professional or a clinician who wishes to broaden their skills and gain experience in child and youth mental health.

Employment Conditions
This position is classified under the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement. Offers of employment are conditional on being able to provide appropriate qualifications and registrations along with a current National Police check, an Employee working with children’s check and undertake immunisation screening prior to commencement.
