Family Support and Engagement Practitioner- Secondary Family Support Services Kummara

ABOUT US

We are recruiting for our KICS Program: Kummara and Infinity Community Solutions. Together we provide a partnership approach to deliver Secondary Family Support Services to families living in the Brisbane South and Brisbane South West catchment. We work with consenting families who have children under the age of 18 living at home, providing practical and emotional support. The families we support are vulnerable, but do not have multiple/complex needs.

This position is based in Chandler.

KEY DUTIES

The role of the Family Support and Engagement Practitioner is to:

  • Provide culturally sensitive and competent practice and resources to vulnerable families within the community.
  • Maintain a case load of client families and deliver individual case work, support groups and community projects.
  • Work with families in partnership to address identified needs, ensuring quality service delivery to children, young people, families and the greater community. 
  • Provide information, advice, referral and linkage to relevant services, as appropriate to the assessed level of need.
  • Attend and participate in case consultations as required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with government, NGO and community organisations to enhance collaboration and ensure integrated approaches. 
  • Maintain accurate records, report writing and data entry requirements in line with professional standards.

We are looking for a full time Family Support Practitioner, to work under the normal business hours of 9am to 5pm (occasionally working outside of these hours).

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant qualifications, e.g. degree in community services or social work. At minimum a Certificate 4 or Diploma in Community Services. (Similar disciplines will be considered.)
  • Valid Working with Children Blue Card
  • Valid Queensland Driver’s license
  • Provide evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination and booster (in consideration of required duties under work health and safety legislation, including relevant public health orders)
