ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner during term-time plus twenty (20) additional non-term time days to commence Term 1,2023. The Behaviour Support Practitioner provides specialist behaviour support to maximise opportunities for student engagement and participation in teaching and learning and school routines and activities.
The Behaviour Support Practitioner works in partnership with other members of the St Lucy’s BEST Team, including the other Behaviour Support Practitioner, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, School Psychologist, Head of Student Engagement (K-12) and liaises with external therapists working with St Lucy’s students.

To be successful for this role, the following qualifications, skills and attributes are essential.:
- Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health (Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy), Special Educator, Psychology or Provisional Psychology, or Social Work.
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner or Behaviour Support Specialist.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate and work cooperatively at all levels.
- Setting the highest professional standards and be an excellent role model for others.
- Demonstrated commitment to student well-being and capacity building.
- Possess a high level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- Effective planning and organisational skills, including good time management skills.
- Acts professionally and maintains confidentiality.
- Participation in co-curricular activities, camps and day trips/excursions.
- A preparedness to embrace the ethos and values of St Lucy’s School.
The following experience, skills and attributes are desirable.:
- Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA) or NDIS Registration as a Behaviour Practitioner advantageous although not essential.
