About Miraa House

Miraa House is a nonprofit organization that makes independence real and achievable for women aged 17 and over with an intellectual disability. Our program works in small groups of women to build their self-confidence and life skills, establish and maintain relationships as well as connect with the community. Our highly qualified team is made up of a , Clinical Dietician, Music Therapist, Psychologist, Office Staff and Support Workers.

Miraa House is seeking a proactive, punctual, reliable and caring Allied Health Professional to join our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on delivering premium quality life skills programs where participants learn to gain confidence, independence, social skills and work towards achieving their NDIS Goals.

This is a full time position – Monday to Friday-76 hours per fortnight.

The Role:

  • Planning, evaluating and implementing programs.
  • Executing programs whilst supporting the participants where needed.
  • Ensuring all programs align with participants NDIS goals and the individual’s Health & Wellbeing.
  • NDIS reporting to track and monitor progress within an outcome-based environment.
  • Using a participant-based software to monitor progress of each participant.
  • Establishing strong relationships with participants, their family, guardians and support staff.
  • Liaising with participants, their family, guardians and support staff regarding participant progress.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience (Required)

  • Formal qualification in Social Work
  • Registered with AASW or equivalent.
  • Current Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with NDIS including report writing

Preferred Qualifications & Experience (Desirable)

  • Experience using SupportAbility or another client database
  • Previous experience in the disability industry
  • Experience with challenging behaviour’s
  • Knowledge in legislation, policies and procedures relating to the field of Disability Services and NDIS
