The Opportunity
Our AOD team has an exciting opportunity for an experienced AOD Youth Outreach Worker, to provide Alcohol and Drug Youth Outreach services across the Central Highlands region.
The primary purpose of the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Youth Outreach Worker is to work within a harm minimisation framework and provide clinical assessment and case management on an outreach basis to young people in their own environment or at BCH facilities.
You will be responsible for the provision of secondary consultation, and health promotion, working with mandated and voluntary clients with co-occurring disorders including AOD, Mental Health and Acquired Brain Injury.
What you will bring to the role:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the principles and practise of working with youth
- Proven skills in the application of intake, assessment, case coordination, case management, case formulation and development of individual treatment plans and discharge planning
- Knowledge of current alcohol and other drug interventions
Also desirable:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in health or community services, social work, AOD and/or Mental Health or related disciplines
