The Youth Engagement Team are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to work in their Devonport and Burnie offices. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team specialising in youth mental health.
You will work under the direction of the Clinical Lead and Programs Manager, and will be responsible for:
- Providing a therapeutic and case management outreach service for young people presenting with, or at risk of complex mental ill health.
- Delivering evidence based psychological interventions that are culturally appropriate for both groups and individuals.
- Delivering psychosocial education to young people, families/caregivers and community groups.
- Providing secondary consultation as required.

Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CYS) have been providing services to young people aged from 12-25 in the community for over ten years. The Youth Engagement Team delivers services in Launceston, Devonport and Burnie.

What you’ll need
Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Mental Health Nursing.
- Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (full or provisional), Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse. Current membership OR eligibility for registration with AASW.
- Demonstrated competence in the provision of a full range of mental health services including mental state examinations and psychological assessments.
- Highly developed skills in managing risk and providing individual, family and group interventions for young people presenting with a broad range of issues.
- Ability to engage with young people and their families holistically.
- Ability to engage with relevant stakeholders to advocate and support access for young people.
Desirable
Post graduate qualifications and/or previous experience working in the youth mental health sector and/or primary healthcare environment.
