Higher Education Markers – External Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors

As a private provider of Higher Education programs, the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (AIPC) offers comprehensive and innovative counselling tertiary programs at Bachelor and Master levels. Students enjoy a unique and personalised learning experience studying through distance learning.

About the role:

Due to growth, and an increase in numbers the Institute is seeking applications from Counselling academic staff for Markers – Higher Education (Counselling). Reporting to the respective subject Lecturer, the Marker will be responsible for examining and marking assignments for various counselling higher education subjects. These are flexible, casual positions required during busy marking times during semesters, and is ideally suited for appropriately-qualified applicants working in other roles.

Duties and responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Marking assignments in accordance with the approved marking criteria, exhibiting appropriate professional judgement within benchmark standards, and with regard to assessment and moderation policies.
  • Providing written feedback on each assessment item.
  • Assessing and returning all allocated assignments and relevant documentation within the required timeframe.

Skills and Experience:

To perform effectively in this role, successful applicants will have:

  • At least a Master-level qualification in Counselling, Psychology or a closely related field (essential).
  • Knowledge of higher education assessment processes, and academic writing and referencing.
  • Sound knowledge of counselling content areas.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
