FTE: Full-time, primarily term-time only

Commencing:  Ongoing from January 2023

We are seeking a registered psychologist to enrich our students’ personal and social development and support their mental health and well-being.  This role is primarily performed during school term time, with additional days during non-term time as scheduled or required due to particular circumstances.

As a registered Psychologist, the School Psychologist will provide counselling, well-being support, referrals and advisory information to students from ELC to Year 12.  In particular, this role is responsible for:

  • As a member of the Wellbeing Team, devising and administering a comprehensive and meticulous program to oversee the welfare and pastoral needs of students;
  • Providing psychological support to students perceived as vulnerable or at risk;
  • Providing advice to colleagues and parents in supporting students in their personal development, mental health and well-being;
  • Leading the development of school policy and strategic planning in the area of child safety;
  • Conducting parent and student information forums and workshops;
  • Acting as the liaison between the student, school and external specialists in the area of health and wellbeing;
  • Using their professional expertise as a Psychologist to contribute to a productive and harmonious community, while also proactively identifying areas for action; and
  • Acting as a Child Safety Officer and leading a team of Child Safety Officers to ensure compliance with Mandatory Reporting requirements.

The successful applicant will possess highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, and will be able to operate effectively both in a team and individually.
