We are currently inviting applications for the role of:

School Psychologist / Counsellor

The School Psychologist/Counsellor provides professional counselling to students, as part of the pastoral care and wellbeing program offered at St Margaret’s. The role aims to improve student wellbeing and academic success by offering preventative and early counselling/psychological interventions.

The role works collaboratively with other members of the pastoral care team including the Dean of Students, Head of Primary, Head of Boarding, Heads of Year and Health Centre staff, contributing to holistic care of students including physical, emotional, spiritual, academic and social wellbeing.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a suitably qualified psychologist or counsellor with a passion for supporting children and adolescence. You will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience as a counsellor or psychologist
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a holistic pastoral care team, supporting the needs of students
  • An excellent knowledge of the developmental stages and needs of children and adolescents
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills are a must as you will communicate with a wide range of people day to day including students, parents, teachers, staff and external bodies.

This is a full-time role and will be offered on a permanent basis. There is room to negotiate longer work days during the school term in exchange for some flexibility to work less weeks during the school holidays.
