We are now taking applications for the GenWest 2023 Graduate Program! This program allows graduates the opportunity to step into the newly created Graduate Family Violence Practitioner role within our Case Management and new Entry Point team! The salary for this role is a SHADS Level 4 (between $77,597.52 to $83,486.00 plus superannuation). This program is part of the 2023 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program alongside the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. This program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors, supporting graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional training and development support. 

The 2023 GenWest Graduate Program involves graduates being assigned to either the Entry Point or Case Management team. From there they will work in collaboration with Team Leaders and Senior Practitioners through mentorship, skill development, and have the chance to shadow experienced family violence practitioners working with victim survivors and their children. Through the yearlong graduate program, graduates will eventually be responsible for supporting strengths based and client-focused support to victim-survivors and their children who are experiencing family violence in the western metropolitan region. 

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Respond to women accessing the service and accept & respond to referrals from external agencies
• Undertake comprehensive risk management assessments and develop safety plans in collaboration with clients
• Develop client-focused case plans that outline clear goals and timelines, ensuring clients are actively engaged in the planning and decision making process
• Actively engage in the 2023 GenWest Graduate program, including shadowing work & developing skills in collaboration with experienced practitioners, maximising learning opportunities, and commit to upholding the GenWest values throughout the entire 12-month program.

Key Selection Criteria

1. Tertiary qualifications in social work or related discipline and eligibility for AASW membership or other professional body. 
2. Direct service delivery experience including the provision of crisis support and case management for women and their children experiencing family violence and/or trauma, including those from diverse communities, this may be in the form of volunteer or placement work
3. An understanding of legislation, theory, and practice as it relates to the provision of family violence services to women and children.  
4. Commitment to the provision of high-quality services, feminist policy and practice, and a culture of respect, collaboration and continuous learning.  
5. Ability to develop and maintain internal and external working relationships that foster partnership work and enhance professional and community networks that improve client and program outcomes.  
6. Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to maintain client records and collect statistical data to inform agency reports.  
7. Sound computer skills including use of data base applications.  
8. Current Victorian driver’s license.
