Melior
Positive Behaviour Support is a growing team of highly experienced positive
behaviour support practitioners. We work closely with people with a broad range
of disability, as well as their families and support workers, to understand why
a person uses behaviours of concern to get their needs met.

We
are seeking dedicated Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners who are
enthusiastic about working with people with a disability and who will be
responsible for implementing evidence based, high quality, positive behaviour
support to people with complex needs as part of our comprehensive
person-centred support model. 

Your
duties will include:

• Working collaboratively with clients, their families and team
  members to develop environments that support individuals to achieve a quality
  of life that reflects and enhances their choice and control.
• Using expertise to engage with clients, their families and support
  staff to develop a shared understanding of the reasons for behaviours of
  concern.
• Using a range of approaches, resources, tools and assessments to
  provide expert opinion and be responsive to unique situations in order to
  inform problem solving and creative solutions to address individual needs.
• Partnering with clients, their families, allied health
  professionals and support workers to provide support to individuals using
  a positive behaviour support approach to all aspects of service delivery,
  including providing training and coaching where appropriate.
• Completing a functional behaviour assessment leading to the
  development of a person-centred positive behaviour support plan, in
  partnership with clients, their families, support workers and other
  stakeholders.

What
you’ll need:

• Tertiary degree in psychology, speech pathology, occupational
  therapy, social work, education or Nursing. Registration with AHPRA, SPA,
  or AASW is well regarded but not essential. 
• An Australian driver’s licence, Working with Children Card, First
  Aid Certificate and a NDIS Workers Screening Check.
• Proof of Covid-19 Vaccinations
• An interest in working with people with complex behaviours of
  concern.
• A commitment to understanding of the principles and evidence-based
  practice regarding the delivery of positive behaviour support within
  diverse environments, including home and community.
• Ability to work within a transdisciplinary model while managing and
  prioritising own workload to meet organisational needs.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills,
  and the ability to develop good working relationships with internal and
  external stakeholders, including residents, families and medical
  providers.
• Ability to problem-solve, work autonomously and to think
  innovatively
• Awareness and understanding of the National Standards for
  Disability Services and an understanding of the rights, needs and
  requirements of people with a disability from diverse cultural
  backgrounds.
• Commitment to person centred approaches and contemporary principles
  of service delivery within a context of the National Disability Insurance
  Scheme.

What

• Intensive training, support and supervision will be provided by a
  leadership team headed by a clinical psychologist with over 30 years’
  experience and supervision accreditation with the Psychology Board of
  Australia (AHPRA). The team leader is a clinician with nationally
  recognised skills and expertise, who has published in peer-reviewed
  journals and delivered workshops in areas of specialist practice across
  Australia.
