Provide person-centered, psychosocial rehabilitation support to people with enduring mental illness to enable them to live independently in the community.

The Role
Mental Health Worker forms part of our trusted and committed Individual Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Support Services (IPRSS) Team. Reporting to the Manager, IPRSS this position will be working with individuals living with mental health challenges in their personal journey to recovery.
The clients in this program are over the ages of 16 – 65 years who may need support to engage with the community in their own unique way. This may include working alongside with a range of stakeholders such as family, community programs and mental health services to assist with planning and creating opportunities for the individual in this program to reach their personal goals.
This position is key to providing complex case management that is person centred and provides for psychosocial rehabilitation within a recovery framework.
This is a fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2023 (extension subject to funding).
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Certificate 4 level qualification in Mental Health (non-clinical) or equivalent qualification.
- Expertise in working with people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Great interpersonal and listening skills to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with service providers, clinical teams, and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with a recovery framework and a trauma informed approach in your daily work.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and de-escalate crises.
- Administration skills, including use of database systems to maintain and update case notes.
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
- Ability to comply with COVID-19 Vaccination requirements.
