Female Case Worker (2 positions)

Staying Home Leaving Violence Program

Part Time – 30 Hours Per Week

Position Location: Wagga Wagga NSW

Linking Communities Network Ltd considers being a woman a genuine occupational specific qualification for this position under s. 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

Linking Communities Network Ltd (LCN) is the lead agency in homelessness and Domestic and Family Violence in Western Murrumbidgee. The service operates in a geographically isolated part of NSW, with distances across the region spanning 110,000 square kilometres. Our vision is for “all people to have access to safe, secure, affordable housing, live free from violence, have equal rights, opportunities for participation and the freedom to reach their potential.” We also operate programs for domestic and family violence victim survivors across the Murrumbidgee District including in Wagga Wagga and Albury.

We are currently seeking 2 Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) Caseworkers for our Wagga Wagga and Junee SHLV Program .The SHLV caseworkers support women and children escaping domestic violence to remain safely in their homes, or to leave safely.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Have, or be working towards the completion of, a formal qualification in Social Work, Social Welfare, or related discipline and / or prior experience in working within the community sectors
  • Experience in the provision of domestic violence case management services for women and children will be a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in case management
  • Experience networking with multidisciplinary services and agencies
  • Passionate about the local community and working with people and their families.
  • Strong commitment to personal and professional development
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence, social policy and issues that face women and children
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to establish rapport, engage with and motivate others
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have, or willing to obtain a Working With Children Clearance and National Police Check
  • Current full NSW drivers licence
  • Full COVID19 Vaccination Status and be willing to participate in any booster programs required

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of appropriate referral agencies in service area.
  • Knowledge of and an ability to work effectively with interpreter services.
