ABOUT THE ROLE

No. 1 Fertility is a dynamic fertility clinic and is seeking an experienced psychologist or social worker to join the Counselling Department in a part time capacity. 

The Counselling Department is a team of experienced, committed and supportive professionals who highly value collaboration and quality care to clients. 

No. 1 Fertility promotes the emotional health and wellbeing of clinic patients. Counsellors provide pre-treatment counselling to all individuals and couples prior to embarking on Assisted Reproductive Technology, such as in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), intra uterine insemination (IUI) or egg freezing. Counsellors also work in third party reproduction and provide support, information and advice regarding donor sperm, donor egg, donor embryo and surrogacy treatment programs. In addition, the team provide supportive counselling to individuals and couples before, during and after treatment to assist them in managing the psycho-social challenges that can accompany infertility and fertility treatment. 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT MUST HAVE

The successful candidate will;

  • Be a qualified social worker or psychologist
  • Have a solid foundation in working with grief and loss
  • Be flexible, adaptable and have a positive attitude. 
  • They will be an enthusiastic contributor to the counselling team. 
  • Have at least 2 years post qualification clinical practice and hold full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA or eligible as a social worker with AASW and eligible for full membership with ANZICA (Australian New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association).

 

The current position is based in Melbourne and is a permanent part time role with one of the required days being a Friday.
