The person we are looking for will possess strong organisational and time management skills in order to work autonomously to balance competing demands. You will need to be engaging and adept at building professional and respectful relationships, based on trust, empathy and demonstrating credibility in your advice to employees experiencing distress. You will need to assist supervisors who seek support for managing employee mental health issues. You will have the experience and ability to deliver mental health education programs and contribute positively to a team.

About the role

The NSWPF has created a new role and position to support the mental health of police employees working in Mount Druitt, Nepean and the Blue Mountains. The Field/Specialist Mental Health Clinicians role is to enhance employee wellbeing and manage the risk of psychological harm through the provision of mental health and organisational consultancy and counselling services to employees, supervisors and managers. The role provides support in the implementation of relevant policies and procedures; the facilitation and delivery of training programs and proactive and preventative interventions including advice to Commanders of the effectiveness of their Regions implementation of programs and systems to manage psychological risks.

The position requires travel within the broader North West Metropolitan Region including Nepean, Mt Druitt and Blue Mountains. 

Applicants must hold a current driver’s licence with no traffic offences recorded on their driving history within the last six (6) months or NSW Police Force Bronze Certification.
