Manager – Counselling & Psychology

Commencement Date: 3 January 2023 (Negotiable)

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary Range: CES Office Salary Scale Level 9 $147,276 to $163,637 gross per annum

About the Role

The Manager Counselling and Psychology is a leadership role that works through a team of School Counsellors and Psychologists to develop capacity across the Diocese to promote and foster the personal and educational development, social and emotional wellbeing and mental health of all students The successful role holder will be able to:

  • Provide leadership to all staff within the counselling and psychology team.
  • Provide professional direction, expert advice, representation and reporting, in the areas of student mental health and social and emotional wellbeing, both within and beyond CES.
  • Identify key strategic themes and directions emerging from available data to inform policy, resourcing and specialist professional support needs in the areas of student counselling, psychology, mental health and social and emotional wellbeing across CES.
  • Coordinate the development, production and review of resources and processes, particularly in counselling, psychology, mental health and student social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Ensure counselling and psychology services across Catholic Education Services Cairns are provided in accord with regulations, policies and guidelines.

Application Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualifications in the discipline of Psychology
  • Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (managed through AHPRA)
  • Current full membership with the Australian Psychological Society
  • Demonstrated successful and varied experience in in the discipline of Psychology
  • Demonstrated successful experience in leading a multidisciplinary team
