The Organisation
Molonglo Support Services (Molonglo) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation providing holistic domestic violence and homelessness support services operating in the Queanbeyan Palerang region for over 40 years. Our mission is to support people experiencing difficulties due to homelessness and domestic and family violence by providing responsive interventions and crisis support. Molonglo has four separate services, Louisa Domestic Violence Service, Monaro Hume WDVCAS and Staying Home Leaving Violence along with Your Place Housing Support Service in conjunction with Barnardos.
The Service
Your Place Housing Support Service provides early intervention, brokerage to sustain tenancies and emergency accommodation, crisis support and accommodation, transitional accommodation, outreach and post crisis support, for people at risk of homelessness or who are currently homeless.
The Position
Reporting to the CEO, the Coordinator guides the smooth operation of Your Place Housing Support Service and works closely with staff at Molonglo and Barnardos Queanbeyan to meet the program’s objectives.
Responsibilities
- Guide Your Place Housing Support Service to ensure the program is delivered in accordance with the program model and contractual obligations
- Manage, administer and monitor program operations including budgets, undertake reporting requirements and review performance against targets
- Work with the CEO to support the Board’s strategic and operational plans, SHS service standards and other policy as required
- Participate in meetings assigned to Molonglo’s Leadership Team
- Coordinate service evaluation and planning to identify service delivery gaps and recommended improvements
- Lead regular team meetings and coordinate service delivery development
- Provide direction, instructions and guidance to the team and create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort, where workers share Molonglo ethics, feel valued for their contribution and are committed to working together to deliver high quality services
- Provide mentorship to team members to increase their skill and confidence in case management
- Perform annual and quarterly performance reviews for staff
- Ensure work is undertaken in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act, Risk Management framework and organisational operating policy and procedure
- Manage a medium case load, as required, to assist individuals and families to build a strong and sustainable future through active case management, coordination of services, community linkages, education, training, employment and assistance to access housing
- Organise and facilitate group programs as determined in service delivery planning
- Develop partnerships and collaborative relationships with external stakeholders and networks
- Foster collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders and actively participate in client advocacy at the system level
- Represent the service at interagency and other network meetings as required

Skills and Experience Required (Selection Criteria)
Required
- A demonstrated ability to manage a community based human service organisation including staff, projects, time management skills, administration
- Case management skills
- Leadership experience
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills in networking, interpersonal skills, report preparation
- Sound knowledge of issues pertaining to homelessness and domestic violence, and the ability to work within a feminist framework
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural issues and racism in our society and how these relate to the work of our organisation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and other agencies to provide integrated case coordination
- Demonstrated understanding of ethical behaviour and professional standards in the workplace
- Understanding of Molonglo’s strategic environment
- Working with Children’s Check and National Police Check
- Driver’s licence
