Why this role matters
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a values-driven Financial Counsellor, reporting to the Moneycare Regional Manager Victoria. This position is instrumental in providing financial counselling, client casework and advocacy, and conduct community education in order to ease the suffering or hardship of people in financial difficulty or crisis.
The role you could play
- Provide a holistic financial counselling and advocacy service to people in financial difficulty or crisis
- Conduct group community education (financial literacy/capability) sessions
- Operate the local Moneycare practise with autonomy but within TSA and Moneycare policy and procedure, managing own scheduling, case load and reporting of statistical data
This a maximum term part time position, 22.8 hours per week to the 30th June 2025, based onsite at our Moneycare Services based in Dandenong. Ideally, we would prefer the successful candidate to be onsite 3 consecutive days to maintain client continuity however this can be negotiated.
Salary is in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award at either a Level 4 (Diploma qualified) or Level 5 (degree qualified ).

What we’re looking for
- 12+months experience in a relevant field.
- Accreditation as a Financial Counsellor or be willing to attain accreditation as soon as possible.
- Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or be willing to undertake study from outset or Degree qualifications or extensive experience in the fields of welfare, finance, community services, psychology or business fields.
- Willingness to travel on occasion for training and development
- Ability to competently use various technology platforms and applications
- A current VIC Drivers Licence
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
