Karabar High School caters for students from the Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Googong zones of New South Wales
with an enrolment of approximately 1050 students.
The school is located 3 hours drive from Sydney and 20 minutes from Canberra.
Karabar High School remains committed to a strong focus on high level academic achievement whilst providing a diverse
breadth of curriculum. The school is a Department of Education recognised partially selective high school and we also offer a Performing Arts selective stream.
The school has a diverse multicultural background with a significant percentage of students identifying as having an Aboriginal or European heritage.
Qualifications & experience
- Dipolma or Higher qualification in social work,youth work, welfare or related discipline.
Knowledge of an commitment the Department of Educations Aboriginal education policies.
Valid and current NSW Working with Children Check clearance.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Student Support Officers work within the school community to enhance student wellbeing and learning outcomes. Student Support Officers provide individual and targeted wellbeing support and wellbeing initiatives and programs across the whole school, including creating referral pathways for students.
