Psycho-Social Support Worker Centre Of Psychological Enrichment (COPE)

JOB DESCRIPTION

With our psychology practice continuing to expand, we are seeking a Psycho-social Support Worker who would be excited to join our growing NDIS team. We are seeking someone that is passionate about helping others and is willing to go above and beyond to enable clients to reach their full potential.

Who are we?

Centre of Psychological Enrichment (COPE) is a small psychology practice and registered National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) service provider that delivers high quality mental health services to participants of the NDIS across the Perth metropolitan area. Our compassionate team at COPE specialise in supporting NDIS participants with a psychosocial disability.

About the Role

The psycho-social support worker provides individualised support services to people requiring support who experience serious and persistent mental health difficulties, and experience difficulties in their daily living. The participants will have an individually funded support NDIS plan. The NDIS aims to provide people with choice and control over how, when and where those supports are provided. The ideal candidate will work together with the participant on their desired goals to live a full and meaningful life.

This opportunity involves outreach work in the local community; therefore, a full driver’s license and reliable vehicle is needed. The successful candidate will be required to use their private motor vehicle for transporting participants, while delivering supports or services.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

1. A genuine commitment with demonstrated skills or knowledge working with people experiencing mental illness;

2. A proven capacity to deal with challenging issues;

3. Highly developed innovative and creative thinking abilities, problem solving abilities, compassion, empathy and professionalism;

4. Understanding of the person-centred approach;

5. Confidentiality and diversity awareness;

6. Demonstrated good communication skills, written oral and interpersonal

7. Strongly demonstrated ability to plan, organise and manage one’s own workload

Desirable

1. You have a minimum qualification of Cert III or are working towards bachelor degree (or higher) in a relevant field of study;

2.Relevant experience in mental health community support;

3. Excellent skills in engaging and working with all ages, including those from diverse backgrounds and/or with complex needs

4. Experience providing evidenced-based interventions to individuals experiencing various mental health issues (i.e. cognitive behavioural therapy)

5. Demonstrated knowledge of the NDIS

6. Admin and digital marketing experience including SEO and managing Google Ad campaigns, or completing blogging activities

7. Social Media proficiency (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn)
