JOB DESCRIPTION

Nurture, Play and Healing is a growing children’s therapy practice.  Built on trauma-informed practices, Attachment Theory, the knowledge of relational neuroscience our evidenced-based approaches provide our clients with therapeutic care that’s playful and supports them and their families to live life together in a connected and enriching way.

The practice prides itself by offering practitioners a collaborative workplace that’s reflective, supports the sharing of learning, promotes practitioner wellbeing and self-care, nurtures their passions and enthusiasm for the work they do and celebrates one another.

We are seeking enthusiastic qualified practitioners or aspiring play therapists, who love working with children and value family, relationship, connection, authenticity and the healing power of play.

Our new practitioners will deliver effective services and programs that are child-lead, using an understanding of best practice guidelines and evidence-based frameworks, informed by relational neuroscience, Attachment Theory and trauma informed practices.  The role is for a contractor position with the flexibility of one or two days per week initially.  There will be opportunities to increase days and move into a permanent employee position for the right candidate.

You’ll be required to:

  • Conduct initial assessments and formulate therapy care plans reflective of the children and family needs and their goals for their care.
  • Conduct therapeutic care with children, service families and key members of their network in various settings including in office, at school, in natural environment settings, in outreach offices within the community and via Telehealth.
  • Assist with the marketing of the practice including writing social media and blog posts, attending events and building long lasting partnerships with key services and referral partners within the community.

The successful candidates will be required to deliver holistic services that are trauma informed and are developmentally appropriate to children; services that encourage play, connection and curiosity, so they can thrive and create lasting benefits beyond the children we work with.  You’ll develop important relationships with clients and their families through a nurturing and compassionate approach to your work and your communication.

  • Demonstrate your ability to relate and play in an appropriate manner with children and young people aged between 2 and 18 years with a variety of presentations, while simultaneously developing positive and trusting relationships with them and their families.
  • Demonstrate your ability to use effective play-based interventions to support children to achieve their goals, including, but not limited to Child Centred Play Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy and Theraplay.
  • Demonstrate your ability to conduct initial consultations, assessments, therapy planning, provisions and write reports.

  • Be willing to engage in further training opportunities to help meet the needs of clients and to extend your skills as a practitioner.
  • Have a current Working with Vulnerable People’s Card, drivers licence, police check (or willingness to provide one), have your own ABN number, Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance to $20 million, mobile phone, laptop or IPad.

You will thrive in this role if you share our values, seek change to support healing and connecting mind, body and spirit, are passionate, playful, love bringing your authentic self into your practice, have a thirst to learn and grow and are passionate about supporting families to live life together in a connected and enriching way.

Benefits:
