  • Salary package full time equivalent up to $85-89k pa (inclusive of base salary dependant on experience, super and salary packaging)

The Opportunity

The Berry Street School is a specialist independent school consisting of four campuses based in Ballarat, Morwell, Narre Warren and Shepparton. We provide a Victorian Curriculum and VCAL program for students aged 12 to 18 years who have become disengaged from mainstream education, and deliver a trauma-informed education model. 

Utilising the Berry Street Model of Education encompassing a structured vision of wellbeing in the school community including the support of education case-management and individual learning plans for each student.

Key Responsibilities

This role will work directly with young people who have high needs and challenging behaviours and have experienced trauma, providing support to these students and providing support and advice to campus staff.

You will have an active role in promoting and maintaining on task student learning and play a key role in the implementation of student wellbeing strategies and programs.

You will contribute to and support the development, implementation and review of programs that support the development of the student’s skills within the school and the broader community.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will hold a tertiary qualification in Education, Social Work, Welfare, Youth Work or other relevant field. You will also hold a current Victorian Employee Working With Children Check card and be able to work creatively to engage our young people in their education.

You will have an understanding of the importance of and have the ability to work in a team environment in this setting and an understanding of the trauma informed positive education model approach.
