  • Salary : $96,964- $101,249 plus super, based on experience and qualification. Attractive Salary Packaging option

About the role

The Team Leader position will provide leadership, direction and support to family violence case workers employed within the family violence program in Preston. The role proactively ensures broad engagement with other VACCA programs.

Team Leader positions will oversee staff delivery of the following:

  • General case work activities such as intake, advocacy, care plans and referrals with Aboriginal women, children and their families who are impacted by family violence
  • Risk Assessment and Safety planning (MARAM)

This position will be responsible for data collection and exportation along with providing staff with regular professional supervision and appropriate development and training opportunities to provide a quality service. The Team Leader will receive professional supervision from the Family Violence Program Manager. It is an expectation of this position to establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders and represent VACCA within the FV sector (for example local FV network meetings, RAMP memberships).

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, welfare or a related discipline or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures, and commitment to continually build knowledge of such, along with a high level of awareness of the key issues which impact upon Aboriginal communities
  • A comprehensive awareness of family violence issues and the impacts on Aboriginal victims/survivors, children and families including the ability to assess and manage risk.
  • Demonstrated positive working relationships with other agencies in a service network, and experience with shared casework, or group work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member in a challenging environment.
  • Proven ability to develop, manage and lead a team in quality practice with a demonstrated capacity to Engage & communicate clear, culturally appropriate respectful and consistent messages to staff, clients and community members.
  • Requirement: Current COVID-19 vaccination (Including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a valid Victorian Driver’s License
