This role is designed for a candidate who is a social worker or psychologist with an interest in behaviour support who may wish to upskill or develop their skills in this area. Furthermore, the role is designed to strengthen the multi-disciplinary expertise across the team of behaviour practitioners.

Positive Practices offers high-quality behaviour support services to Participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the Northern Territory. Our Team are committed to supporting people living with a disability to access services that maximise opportunities for participation, reduce the need to use behaviours of concern, and improve quality of life.
You will provide high-level quality behaviour support services to NDIS participants with behaviours of concern as well as their family and support networks to improve their quality of life. You will use your clinical skills to assess functional abilities and develop therapeutic interventions relevant with complex needs.
Essential
- Recognised degree in Social Work or Psychology and eligibility for registration with AASW or AHPRA. Be registered as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, or have an ability to register upon confirmation of employment.
- Experience in the delivery of social work or psychological services and an ability to work collaboratively and strategically with other providers to achieve positive participant and service outcomes.
- Relevant experience in providing clinical assessment including but not limited to undertaking positive behaviour assessments to people who display behaviour of concern.
- Working knowledge of restrictive practices and an ability to design plans that aim to reduce and eliminate the practice in accordance with relevant legislation and frameworks.
- Working knowledge and experience in delivering contemporary positive behaviour support practices, which enable the development and implementation of evidence based, person centred, positive behaviour support plans.
- Experience providing training and professional development to professional and non-professional staff in your field of expertise.
- NT Drivers licence or the ability to obtain.
Desirable
- Post graduate study in relevant field related to social work, psychology or the science of behaviour.
