JOB DESCRIPTION

About Relationships Australia
Our clients are, and always will be, our priority. Relationships Australia NSW provide a safe, judgement free environment where individuals, couples and families can address the matters impacting their relationships and lives.

What you’ll do
You’ll receive referrals from the NSW Police and Justice Department and proactively contact men who have recently experienced domestic or family violence.

You will conduct phone-based safety assessments, identify short-term needs, and refer clients on to appropriate services. This means that client contact is typically one-touch, and due to the high volume of clients needing our support, your ability to quickly build rapport and provide effective support will make a big difference to so many clients. There are no after-hours requirements.

The details

  • 3- 5 days per week
  • Multiple locations available – can be based at Penrith, Broadmeadow or Dee Why and hybrid working options available
  • Contract until March 2023 with high possibility to extend
  • $42 – $47 per hour + super
  • Available to start immediately

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in social work, counselling, psychology, or related field
  • Experience working with domestic family violence and an understanding of the needs of men who have experienced DFV
  • Ability to undertake client safety assessments and safety planning
  • Ability to respond to complex referrals involving liaising with police and reporting child protection concerns
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume phone-based referral program

Why work with us?

  • Address a hidden side of Domestic and Family Violence and ensure safety of clients
  • Strong supervision framework to support your development and deepen practice excellence
  • We offer many benefits including salary packaging, additional leave days, and fitness passport
  • We value inclusion and belonging. We want a workforce that is reflective of all the communities we serve. To strengthen our inclusive practice we have employee action groups: Accessibility, Reconciliation, Gender, Sex & Sexually Diverse and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD)
  • RANSW is committed to deepening our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our RAP guides our efforts to build strong relationships, increased employment opportunities, and enhanced respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians

Next Steps
If this sounds like a position for you, apply today! Applications close 12th December.

RANSW requires the preferred applicant to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check and a Working with Children Check prior to employment.

It is a condition of employment from 1 January 2022, that employees who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination must be fully vaccinated in order to perform duties at any of our workplaces.
