This graduate position is part of the 2023 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program. The Program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors and supports graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional learning and development support.

In addition to state-wide learning and networking opportunities, graduates are supported by a dedicated Learning and Development Facilitator and have access to learning and development opportunities with other graduates throughout the year. This includes an induction session at the commencement of the Program and monthly community of practice sessions. Graduate’s agencies also have access to a funding allocation to support ongoing learning and development needs over the course of the Program.

Why this role matters

The Support and Safety Hub Practitioner Graduate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of practitioners to deliver high quality, safe and effective responses to Victorian women, children and families seeking support and safety through the Hub and keep the perpetrator in view.

Work within a trauma & psychologically informed practice environment, all practitioners are expected to work creatively towards ensuring that the safety and support needs of all clients accessing the service.

The role you could play

  • Undertake interim support as a graduate practitioner aligned with the Integrated Practice Framework
  • Deliver screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals consistent with the Integrated Practice Framework, Operational Guidelines, Service Specifications and relevant risk assessment tools and frameworks
  • Identify, assess, and prioritise risk and needs of women and children, families, and perpetrators, drawing on the expertise of different practitioners in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Apply for brokerage on behalf of clients in accordance with Brokerage Guidelines
  • Record client information accurately on the Hub Client Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Clients are assisted to access support services and establish community supports, and where needed are assisted through advocacy with service providers
  • Progress and outcomes of individual case plans are regularly monitored and reviewed

The role is a full time, 12-month fixed term position from January 2023 to December 2023 based in Inner Gippsland. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 5.

What we’re looking for

  • A Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent formal learning (Mandatory)
  • Experience working in the Family Violence or Child Wellbeing sector is desirable
  • Demonstrated case management experience and skills
  • Highly developed time management and work prioritisation skills with an ability to work autonomously
  • Advance computer skills including experience in data record management
  • A current VIC Drivers Licence
  • Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
  • Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
