The opportunity
Clinicians at Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct are responsible for the delivery of targeted behaviour interventions for young people. Clinicians report directly to the Senior Clinician and will provide leadership and support to a team of Behaviour Support Staff delivering psychosocial programs and behavioural case plans. Clinicians will oversee, plan and develop a range of treatment plans, reports and risk assessment strategies that deliver evidence-based programs to support a young person’s rehabilitation.
The position will work within a multi-disciplinary team to achieve sustained change in a young person’s behaviour through individual interactions with young people in the units as well as group programs.
Multiple vacancies are available for registered health professionals and relocation support may be available for the successful candidate.
To be successful in the role, you will be aware of key issues impacting youth justice and passionate about delivering a therapeutic approach to support rehabilitation of young people.
A relevant qualification in psychology, social work, youth work or a related discipline with an understanding of psychometric tools and specialised psychological assessments with applied/practical content is required.
- General or Provisional Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or
- Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
- Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include national police checks and misconduct screening.
