About the Role
An exciting and dynamic opportunity exists for experienced and motivated Psychologists or Group Therapists with relevant training to deliver evidenced-based group therapy.
This is a unique role requiring experience across many therapies. The individual will need a diverse skill level working with patients individually, within an inpatient group setting, and the capacity facilitate outpatient groups.
Therapy knowledge and experience required for this role are:
- Firm knowledge base and confidence in delivery of psychoeducation and supportive counselling.
- Familiarity with DBT concepts including distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy within a creative expression setting.
- Provision of individual based interventions for substance use disorders (not as a focus but incidental).
- Provision of individual and group based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy interventions
- Mentalisation based treatment for personality disorders.
- Program reviews and development is also a key requirement of this position.
- There is also an expectation that the individual can work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary setting.
What you will bring
- Post-graduate mental health qualifications. Masters level desirable.
- Current general registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency) or PACFA (Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia)
- Experience in various evidence-based psychotherapy approaches;- CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed.
- Demonstrated group therapy experience in acute and outpatient mental health
- Demonstrated experience providing individual mental health intervention
- Demonstrated group therapy experience in mental health
- Demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving & negotiation skills
- Demonstrated experience in program development and implementation
- Commitment to excellence in continuous quality improvement
- Demonstrated capacity to work within a team as well as autonomously
