Domestic Violence – Team Leader and Counsellor- WFH TaylorCare Recruitment

JOB DESCRIPTION

TaylorCare Recruitment has partnered with DV hotline and they are looking for Full-time First Responder Counsellors & Team Leaders for there 24/7 hotline for min of 12 weeks if not longer and opportunity to go permanent in future.

Counsellor

*Competitive salary package range from $70k – $100K pro rata 

Core Responsibilities
The First Responder will provide immediate response to our service users in a supportive and safe environment. 

  • Deliver high quality tailored response within the appropriate framework and meet the needs of a broad client group.
  • Provide appropriate referrals and support based on the need of the individual client.
  • Ensure all statutory obligations are met as it related to mandatory reporting (i.e. mandatory reporting in the case of children and young people at risk)
  • Escalate identified issues and clinical risks in alignment with compliance and quality processes to the Team Leader.
  • Ensure all information and data is recorded in a concise and secure manner, in adherence to the services’ data capture policies.
  • Comply with all work practices and codes such as the Australian Psychological Society; the Australian Association of Social Workers or the Counsellors and Psychotherapist Association of NSW.\

Experience & Qualification

  • A minimum three-year bachelor’s qualification which meets the requirements of the Peak Body Registrations.
  • Must hold Peak Body Registration & provide registration details for verification: PACFA – Clinical, ACA – Lvl3 or above, Full – AASW or General Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (Unrestricted).
  • At least two years full time structured evidence based – counselling experience (Case Management not acceptable).
  • Demonstrated experience in brief, outcome-focused counselling (preferably telephone counselling) or equivalent experience in specialised sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling, mental health services, crisis services, homelessness etc.
  • Experience working telephone counselling/ intake/ assessment role


Team Leader

*Competitive salary package range from $110K -$120k pro rata 

Core Responsibilities
 

The Team Leader will be the first point of contact for their team of First Responders and will need to manage the day-to-day delivery of the service within their team, managing escalated issues, providing coaching and making decisions related to service delivery.
  • Provide direct line supervision, mentoring, support and guidance to their team of first responders.
  • Act as the first point of contact for their team of first responders on all operational and practice related shift matters.
  • Ensure service delivery is of a quality standard, professional, efficient, timely and meets the requirements of the defined clinical framework and contractual KPI’s.
  • Manage any escalations or other shift related issues in alignment with compliance and quality processes
  • Ensure all statutory obligations are met as it related to mandatory reporting (i.e. mandatory reporting in the case of children and young people at risk)
  • Ensure their team is working to approved practice models, policies and procedures, and manage any changes to workflows and policies as required.
  • Undertake quality audits, and call listening with all team members in alignment with quality processes, providing feedback where required.
  • Attend and contribute in supporting leadership/management teams in the facilitation of staff meetings and learning and development days.
  • Provide effective support and collaboration to Clinical Practice Lead which contributes to the overall service delivery provided.

  

Experience & Qualification
  • Minimum 4 years trauma counselling experience (preferably telephone counselling) or full time equivalent experience in specialised sexual assault, domestic and family violence counselling.
  • Be qualified counsellors registered with either the Australian Counselling Association (Min ACA Level 3) or psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (Clinical PACFA); or be qualified social workers registered with AASW (Mental Health Social Worker – AASW General); or be Clinically registered psychologists with AHPRA.
  • Hold Current Working with Children Checks, or the capacity to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Hold Australian Citizenship
