About You
- You have extensive experience working with consumers with a lived experience of mental illness and experience in the delivery of a range of evidence based mental health interventions, including mental health assessment, in an individual and group context.
- You have very well developed and effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- You have a Qualification of a Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number), a demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the position and a commitment to maintaining a professional skill and knowledge base.
What you’ll be doing
You will provide a professional social work service to consumers and their family/carers to ensure optimal health outcomes. The position is currently based at various locations across the Central Coast Local Health District and provides a community based social work service to consumers and their families across the Central Coast. As a senior clinician, you are required to demonstrate clinical specialty, provide supervision to junior social work staff and provide clinical leadership within the team.
Primarily the position is to provide specialist mental health assessment, counselling and to undertake treatment and case planning, liaison and advocacy and referral to ensure access to appropriate community services. You will work closely with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers to ensure the development and delivery of effective and pro-active social work service. You will be expected to be active in the areas of service development, service evaluation and staff and student teaching.
