About Miraa House:
Situated in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane.
Miraa House is an exclusive All-Female, unique learning life skills centre for women with an intellectual disability. Our ladies work in small groups, to learn essential life skills. Every woman, through her journey at Miraa House will be empowered, inspired and encouraged to reach her individual goals.
Our programs operate – Monday to Friday.
Miraa House has an opening for a Professional Social worker / Developmental Educator or an Occupational therapist to join and work with our dynamic team in a warm friendly environment.
This is an immediate start, full time position
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and implementing lessons.
- Creating individual plans
- Ensuring all programs align with participants NDIS goals and the individual’s Health & Wellbeing.
- NDIS report writing to track and monitor progress within an outcome-based environment.
- Establishing strong relationships with participants, their family, guardians and support staff.
- Liaising with participants, their family, guardians and support staff regarding participant progress.
- Behaviour support plans
Minimum Qualifications & Experience (Required)
- Formal qualifications
- Experience in challenging behaviour’s
- Registered under relevant body
- Knowledge in legislation, policies and procedures relating to the field of Disability Services and NDIS
- Current Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
- Current Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Workers screening
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
