Family Carer Peer Worker for Eating Disorders

About the role

Use your significant personal ‘lived experience’ of caring/supporting a young person who has experienced an Eating Disorder and accessed a public Child and Youth Mental Health Service. You will be required to:

  • Provide peer-based information and support to families/carers of a young person accessing Eastern Health ICYMHS.
  • Support information sessions and groups for families/carers of the service.

Essential

  • Direct personal experience as a carer of a young person, up to 26 years, who has experienced an eating disorder and received treatment within a public infant child and youth mental health service.
  • Completion of Intentional Peer support (IPS) training, OR a willingness to complete.
  • Demonstrated commitment to lived and living experience values and principles.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, with a high degree of initiative, time and task management skills and the ability to work both autonomously and with others. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

About you

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role.  An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.
