  • 2 positions: Full Time & Part Time
  • Salary : $79,422.16 – $85,451.72 + super + salary packaging benefits
  • Max term contract until 30/06/2024 with potential for extension

Mission Australia is has an opportunity for an AOD Youth and Family Case Worker to join our Mission Australia Country Recovery for Families (MAC-RF) program. Based in Berri, this position will deliver prevention and early intervention support to reduce the impact of substance misuse for Young people 10-25 years of age and their families.

AOD specific training provided and paid professional development, including group facilitator training.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide person-centred assertive case management outreach support and informal counselling to young people and their families
  • Coordinate care for participants requiring support from multiple services by facilitating referrals and coordination between services
  • Work with clients to create holistic and strength based individualised support plans
  • Facilitate AOD education, capacity building, information sessions and service presentations within the local community
  • Proficiently undertake administrative skills including, reports, referral letters, goal plans and data entry in relevant Client Management System

Requirements for Success

  • Relevant degree: Social Work or Psychology, with at least 1 years’ experience (e.g. relevant four-year degree with at least 1 years’ experience or relevant three-year degree with two years of relevant experience).
  • Alternatively, employee may hold a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs with relevant experience. a less formal qualification with substantial years of relevant experience or equivalent expertise gained through previous industry experience.  
  • Demonstrated ability to provide specialised or complex therapeutic interventions and manage a caseload of complex client.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including highly developed administrative skills and the ability to provide support to management of a complex nature.
  • Demonstrated professional approach to the role including maintaining professional boundaries.
  • A positive and person-centred approach with a strong guiding belief about everyone’s capacity to self-right and grow within and beyond their current circumstances.
  • An understanding from combined lived experience and professional development about factors that support recovery
