Senior Counsellor Educator (Registered) 

Seeking an Experienced Senior Counsellor Educator to be part of WA’s leading specialist AOD service provider

About the role

Cyrenian House have been operating within the alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment sector since 1981 and are now excited to work in partnership with Bethesda Health Care, to deliver service to the Wellness and Recovery Day Hospital at Cockburn Central. 

The position of Senior Counsellor Educator (Registered) will provide consumers involved in the Wellness and Recovery Day Hospital Therapy AOD Program, with the necessary support and tools to enable them to reduce or abstain from substance use. 

The position is full-time and will require full AHPRA registration.  

To be successful in this role you will require the following key attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification in social, behavioural or health sciences.
  • AHPRA professional registration.
  • Knowledge of alcohol and other drug issues and understanding of comorbidity in relation to alcohol and drug issues
  • Demonstrated assessment, case management, counselling and group facilitation skills.
  • Experience in working with consumers from diverse backgrounds and different cultural groups.
  • Demonstrated and well developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
