About the role
This position is to provide advanced level Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clinical counselling and organisational services for SLHD staff and managers, including: crisis intervention; short term counselling; management consultation; 1:1 and group supervision, mentoring and staff development and Post Traumatic Incident consultation and support. Clients will be seen individually and in groups as required. Clinical work will occur within the context of a multidisciplinary health care team.
The position aims to support evidenced-based intervention for the treatment and management of mental illness and psychological conditions for staff presenting to EAP facilitating the implementation of appropriate care that is consistent with current guidelines and has been shown to be effective in the treatment and management of mental illness and psychological conditions within the Australian context. The position assists Sydney LHD to meet the requirements of “Employee Assistance Programs” and ACHS Accreditation and WHS standards.
We are looking for someone who?

Holds post graduate qualifications in Psychology and full registration with AHPRA – Endorsement in Clinical Psychology (or working towards endorsement). For Social Work – Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers.

Demonstrates clinical knowledge, skill and clinical experience in the provision of clinical psychology/mental health social work interventions and confidential professional counselling including interventions regarding work related difficulties with individuals and groups. This includes demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of therapies (such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Insight Oriented Psychotherapy).

About working for SLHD
This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2022_030).
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
