Your Opportunity

The Graduate Program is open to graduates with degree from Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology or related fields providing a great way for qualified graduates to transition from education to employment.

It connects graduates to experienced professionals who will help them to apply their skills and knowledge as they start their career pathway, providing a platform for their degrees to come to life through the experience.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Monitor the transitional housing facilities to ensure that all aspects of property are maintained and address any areas that need attention.
  • Provide or source relief support, referral and information to appropriate clients who do not require ongoing case management from the service.
  • Undertake initial registrations for clients, including all necessary paperwork and application forms.
  • Induct clients into the service including the property, facilities, financials and regulations.
  • Work with all client levels to create individualized support plans including referral to supplementary services as needed.
  • Provide ongoing case management sessions with clients and review progression against case plans regularly and provide informal counselling as required.
  • Assist clients in the process of transition out of the service into independence or other services.
  •  Actively participate in the sourcing of referral services to meet the needs of clients and establishing referral pathways that will assist clients at risk of becoming homeless to maintain their tenancy.
  • Create and update individualized case management files for all clients in line with Mission Australia protocols.

 

Requirements for Success

  • Degree in in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or related course.
  • Demonstrated experience in either customer service, client engagement, or community participation, preferably within a community service delivery setting.
  • Values alignment.
  • Organisational awareness.

 

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks.
