The Institute seeks applications from experienced Counselling academics for the position of Course Coordinator. Reporting to the Program Leader – Counselling, the role is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the Bachelor of Counselling, and ensuring academic and service standards for the course are met.
The role is based at the Institute’s Higher Education campus in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The position is permanent full-time (with 6 months’ probation). Days and hours of work are Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm.
The main responsibilities undertaken by the Course Coordinator include:
- Day-to-day leadership of the Bachelor of Counselling academic team.
- Developing and implementing plans for delivery and assessment of the Bachelor of Counselling.
- Ensuring teaching and assessment materials for subjects within the course comply with approved subject outlines, and that teaching and assessment standards are consistently applied.
- Ensuring positive student satisfaction and feedback is achieved with Bachelor of Counselling students.
- Supporting AIPC’s Higher Education Leadership team in the implementation of policies and standards within the counselling academic team.
- Developing study materials including study guides, online lectures/webinars and assessments.
To perform successfully in this position, the successful candidate will have:
- A recognised PhD or Doctorate in Psychology, Counselling or Social Work.
- Established teaching ability in relevant fields at a tertiary level.
- Experience in the development of course and subject curricula and teaching materials.
- ability to coordinate and administer the successful delivery of tertiary subjects.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration capability.
- Demonstrated ongoing scholarly activity.
- Eligible for membership of the Australian Counselling Association.
