APS 4 – Transition Coach

APS Level 4 

$71,207 – $77,739 (plus Super)

Holsworthy – NSW, Sydney CBD – NSW

The Role

Joint Transition Authority (JTA) Transition Coaching and Support (TCS) is seeking Transition Coaches at the APS 4 level, based in Sydney CBD and Holsworthy. The Transition Coach facilitates delivery of the needs based Defence Force Transition Program. 

The Transition Coach will be part of a team of APS, ADF and contracted staff who provide transition and career coaching services to transitioning ADF members. Responsibilities include conducting transition coaching sessions, inclusive of working with members with complex needs. Liaison with key stakeholders including Command, ADF members and families is a key role of the position. 

The Transition Coach will participate in the delivery of local ADF Member and Family Transition Seminars (face to face) and contribute to the virtual offerings. The positions report to the ADF Transition Centre Managers Holsworthy and Sydney CBD.

About our Team

JTA TCS delivers the Defence Force Transition Program, designed to support members and their families plan for civilian life after leaving Defence. Participation in the transition process is mandatory for all ADF members regardless of the reason for leaving. 

The Defence Force Transition Program provides access to specialist advice, paid leave and training to support members and their families in their transition to civilian life. Access to the needs based programs is supported by a transition coach.

Our Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role would possess: 

• Experience in case management, life/career coaching or similar

• A proven ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally, both in person and using digital platforms 

• Willingness to undertake further training as required

• Have experience or knowledge regarding DMFS TCS programs and services

Ex-Military personnel with a minimum of 4 years service (with the last day of service being no more than 5 years prior) who have training and experience in building teams, organisational skills and elements of leadership are also encouraged to apply.
