The Position
As the Occupational Violence & Aggression Training Coordinator you will contribute to the management of occupational violence and aggression (OVA) risk across our hospitals and services by contributing to the development, coordination, delivery, evaluation and improvement of OVA training across our caregiver cohort.
You will be required to consult with local OHS teams and local L&D teams to coordinate and develop a training schedule, including facility bookings that meets the requirements of the training needs analysis. Further to this you will also be required to deliver the OVA training program, including competency assessments, refresher training and coaching.
On occasion you may be requested to participate in incident investigations, assurance activities, policy reviews and leadership rounding’s as an OVA SME as required.
This position is a permanent full-time position (working 38 hours per week) with the opportunity to be based in Melbourne. This position will also be required to travel and deliver training at various St John of God hospital and service locations.
The successful candidate will have:
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or progression towards.
- A current driver’s license.
- Experience working in high risk clinical area, e.g. Mental Health / ED.
- Physical capability to undertake the manual tasks as part of the practical component of the training.
- Ability to travel to deliver training to metropolitan and regional SJGHC locations in Western Australia, Victoria and NSW (depending on base location)
- Understanding of issues related to violence & aggression within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Effective conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Analytical skills including the ability to analyse information and provide reports relating to information.
- Sound computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
The Benefits:
- Salary: $93,212.67 to $103,529.41 plus 11% Superannuation
