JOB DESCRIPTION

  • We’re looking for a Behaviour Support Technician to provide Clinical support within the NDIS sector – ensuring that the people we support receive quality clinical services, meeting pre-determined measures established by management and the funding body. You’ll be assisting our Behaviour Support Consultants in Brisbane, who with colleagues across the country together create our national team. This is a technically challenging and rewarding role offering clinical expertise in a range of family and out of home care, disability and dual diagnosis, mental health and forensic disability contexts.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting our Behaviour Support Consultants to develop person-centred, evidence-informed positive behaviour support plans in line with the person’s goals and the allocated hours in their NDIS plan
    • Use a range of functional assessment tools to conduct physical and interpersonal assessments of people in a range of environments to develop treatment plans and rehabilitation programs
    • Record and report accurately

    • A desire to work with children, young people and adults who have a disability and present with complex challenging behaviours
    • Knowledge of the development and implementation of behavioural intervention strategies, risk management strategies and skills development plans
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively as a valued member of the clinical team
    • Excellent communication and active listening skills to quickly build rapport with the people we support, their teams and your peers
    • Excellent written skills for accurate report writing and record keeping
    • Ability to remain calm and resilient in high pressure environments
    • Undergraduate in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work or similar
    • Full unrestricted drivers licence
    • First Aid certificate
    • Working with Children Check
