JOB DESCRIPTION

Work Type: Contractor part-time or full-time (minimum 2 days)

Location: Officer (Southeast Melbourne)

  • Do you have postgraduate training in Play Therapy?
  • Are you a private practitioner looking to work as part of a team with Play and Creative Art Therapists?
  • Are you looking for a flexible working opportunity in private practice?

About Us

At South Eastern Play & Creative Therapies we aim to provide accessible, high quality therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families utilising play and expressive arts-based practice. We are passionate about offering therapeutic services that are developmentally sensitive, relationship focused and integrating a range of therapeutic modalities to meet the individual needs of the client. This means that we consider the developmental stage of the child or young person rather than their chronological age. At South Eastern Play & Creative Therapies we believe that the child or young person functions as part of a broader system which could include the family, peers, school, and other professional services involved. Some of the best therapeutic outcomes come from working with the whole system, particularly, the family. We offer a range of parent education and support programs.

We are a group of Independent Play & Creative Art Therapists offering a range of therapeutic services including play therapy, creative art therapies, family play therapy, group programs, consultancy and training/PD.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a team of passionate Therapists specialising in play and expressive therapies. The core values embedded within the team and client experience are:

  • Safety
  • Compassion
  • Hope
  • Growth

We are seeking an experienced Play Therapist who is looking to be part of a growing private clinic and can share and model these core values in their clinical work and within the team.

This contracting role offers a range of benefits:

  • Referral support and management – calendar bookings, client phone calls, invoicing and much more
  • Fully equipped therapy rooms including a play therapy room, creative arts therapy room and family play therapy room (including one way mirror)
  • Shared office space
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Business mentoring support
  • Monthly peer supervision
  • In house PD and team meetings
  • Advertising/marketing through social media and website
  • Opportunities for delivery/co-facilitation of training and group programs

What are we looking for?

You will be a fully trained and qualified Play Therapist who is passionate about supporting children, adolescents and families. You will be caring, compassionate and confident in your therapeutic practice. You are keen to contribute, share your skills and experience and work in a supportive team environment. You will have at least 2 years post qualifying play therapy or other counselling experience.

Essential:

  • Postgraduate training in Play Therapy
